Basin Wildlife Issues and Ranking -- Lower Willamette Basin

Create, restore and enhance wildlife habitats for aquatic and terrestrial wildlife habitats. Special emphasis is placed on fish passage, riparian/aquatic and oak savanna wildlife habitats.

Ranking:

Will the project improve structures that restrict fish movement to critical stream habitat? 10pts
Will this project result in the restoration of a Strategic Habitat for its Ecoregion (as defined by the ODF&W) Oregon Conservation Strategy? 30pts
Does the applicant has experience with wildlife habitat restoration planning, contract implementation, and working with wildlife agencies? 20pts
Is the project covered under programmatic consultation, if needed, or one will be completed by a third party prior to construction with WHIP funds? (No funds will be authorized without required environmental compliance.) 20pts
Will the project restore or enhance oak savannah, wet prairie or oak woodland habitat? 30pts
Will planning and/or management promote establishment or maintenance of a mix of native vegetation? 20pts
Is the site located on or adjacent to an existing protected wildlife area (e.g., State Wildlife Management Area, USFWS refuge, The Nature Conservancy owned site, WRP easement, or other lands managed primarily for wildlife)?  10pts
Will the planned restoration or enhancement change the existing land use to a wildlife land use? 30pts
Will this project reduce the scale and spread of priority invasive species infestations? 20pts
Will the planned practices will benefit 3 or more T&E species? 10pts
