County or Survey Soil Data

Mapping scales are generally 1:24000 in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. This is the most detailed level of soil mapping done by NRCS. The map extent is a soil survey area, which may consist of a county, multiple counties, or parts of multiple counties. Data are available for selected counties and areas throughout the United States and its territories.

Statewide Soil Data

The mapping scale for these coverages is 1:250,000 (with the exception of Alaska, which is 1:1,000,000). The level of mapping is designed to be used for broad planning and management uses covering state, regional, and multi-state areas. These coverages are available for the conterminous U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
