Computer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) -- How To Request ITS Access for NRCS Employees, Partners, Contractors and Volunteers
Agency employees should have background investigation documentation on file in their Official Personnel Folder (OPF). All conservation district and other partner employees who connect their computers to the USDA network must have background investigations. This includes partner employees who do not have a Common Computing Environment (CCE) logins and use the connection only to access the Internet. USDA memo dated January 14, 2008 (PDF, 37 KB) states that new employees and contractors are required to take the Computer Security Awareness Training (CSAT) and privacy basics training prior to being allowed access to any USDA information systems, sensitive electronic or hard copy data.
