SUBJECT:   EOP – Hispanic Emphasis Program Manager, Veteran Emphasis Program Manager, Asian Pacific Islander Program Manager

Action Required by June 25, 2008

Purpose:  To recruit for Hispanic Emphasis Program Manager, Veteran Emphasis Program Manager, and Asian Pacific Islander Program Manager positions on the Civil Rights Committee

Expiration Date:  October 31, 2008.

This bulletin is to recruit several Special Emphasis Program (SEPM) positions for Oregon; Hispanic Emphasis Program Manager, Veteran Emphasis Program Manager, and Asian Pacific Islander Program Manager. The Program Managers will join the other SEPM’s as members of the Civil Rights Committee.

The new Program Managers will assume their position on October 1, 2008, however, they will join the CR team unofficially July 1, 2008. This three month period will be considered a training period during which they will be encouraged to attend the last fiscal year quarterly meeting and have the opportunity to visit and acquire knowledge from other SEPM’s in regards to their duties.

Those seeking to expand their knowledge base and acquire new skills are encouraged to apply. Some travel is involved. The job will require working with a motivated and innovative Civil Rights Committee and other employees at the state and national levels. The manager will be exposed to facets of human resources and personnel issues as well assist in serving our customers in new and creative ways. Committee members will receive valuable training that will enhance their careers with NRCS. This is a collateral duty that requires no more than 20% of your time and is a 3 term position.
