SUBJECT:   PRODUCER SELF-CERTIFICATION OF IRRIGATION HISTORY

Purpose:  Provide documentation of irrigation water rights and historical water use on irrigated land.

Expiration Date:  September 30, 2008

This bulletin provides guidance for documenting irrigation water rights and historical water use for irrigation on land associated with NRCS irrigation project activities. Landowners and/or operators are to provide the information requested on the attached form during project planning and prior to all design activities. Note that in consultation with the landowner the NRCS will designate the type of irrigation history documentation required and the verifying authority. In some cases the verifying authority may be the landowner/operator. The information requested for historical water use coincides with NRCS requirements as specified in the Environmental Quality Incentives Program manual.

The URL for the Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) provided on the Self Certification form contains information on existing water rights information in Oregon.
