SUBJECT:  WRP:  Oregon Wetlands Reserve Program Geographic Cap Rates For 2008

Purpose: Transmittal of Oregon’s Wetland Reserve Program 2008 Geographic Rate Caps

Expiration Date: September 30, 2010

This bulletin transmits Oregon’s Geographic Rate Caps for FY 2008. These rates were reviewed and concurred with by the Oregon Technical Advisory Committee and NRCS Easement Programs Division. The caps will be reviewed at least annually and are to be made available to the WRP applicants at the time of application.

Oregon identified 6 regions of the state in order to adequately consider the variation in land values. The values are based on data from the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Land Value and Cash Rents 2007 Summary (August 2007).

Coast $1,975 Clatsop, Tillamook, Coos & Curry, & west of the Coast Range crest in Lane & Douglas
Willamette Valley $3,800 Columbia, Washington, Multnomah, Yamhill, Clackamas, Polk, Marion, Benton, Linn, & east of the Coast Range crest in Lane
Southern Oregon #2,775 Josephine, Jackson, east of the Coast Range crest in Douglas, S half of Klamath, & the SW portion of Lake
Columbia Basin $1,975 Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, Morrow, Umatilla
Northeastern Oregon $1,600 Union, Wallowa, Baker, NE portion of Malheur, & NE portion of Grant
Central/Southeast Oregon $1,225 S half of Malheur; SE portion of Grant; Wheeler, Deschutes; Jefferson, Crook, Harney, N half of Klamath, SW portion of Lake
