Oregon Bulletin 190-2008-7

The following documents requires  Adobe Acrobat.

OR Bulletin NO.   OR-190-2008-7  (PDF, 28 KB)

Date:  June 9, 2008

SUBJECT:   Use of Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation, Version 2 (RUSLE2) For Technical Assistance and For Phosphorus Indexes

Purpose:  Disseminate electronic information to all area and field offices.

Expiration Date:  Until superseded

The phosphorus risk assessment tool (Oregon’s Phosphorus Index) has been updated to require use of the yearly erosion rate (sheet and rill and/or wind) by crop for the year(s) of manure application in the Transport Factors section. The Index previously utilized average annual soil erosion over a given crop rotation.

This change is being made to improve the technology of the phosphorus risk assessment tool as it provides a more accurate way to assess the risk of manure and nutrient runoff.
