PORTLAND, ORE., May 8 2012 - Acting State Conservationist Danny Burgett
announced the launch of a new National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI)
committed to improving four priority waterways in Oregon. USDA’s Natural
Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will manage the initiative by
making funds available to farmers, ranchers and forest landowners in the
selected watersheds.
NRCS will accept applications for financial assistance during two
ranking periods for the NWQI with the first ending on May 18, 2012,
and the second on June 15, 2012. |
